Chamber Music by the Bay invites YOU to attend its inaugural concert, “New Horizons”! The free concert will take place on Sunday, June 3rd, at 3:00PM at Saratoga Presbyterian Church (20455 Herriman Avenue, Saratoga). Though the concert is a celebration of our first season, more importantly, we would like to share our collaboration of Mendelssohn’s Octet with students from Saratoga and Lynbrook High Schools!
So what’s with this “New Horizons” business?
Well, we’re embarking on something new by launching Chamber Music by the Bay. Many of the high school students from Saratoga, Lynbrook, and Monta Vista are graduating and looking beyond their immediate horizon to colleges and careers. The pieces featured on the program, including works by Dvorak, Britten, and Mendelssohn, were written at various points in these composers’ lives, but all at points of awakening and discovery. You can be part of this experience by joining us for an afternoon of chamber music– how can experiencing chamber music help us learn and grow, too?
Our talented collaborators include Saratoga High School’s Max Chang and Jackie An, violins; Linus Lu, viola; and Kevin Lian, cello; and Lynbrook High School’s Christy Chen and James Hu, violins; Caroline Lee, viola; and Kevin Chen, cello
